From the Artist: "I'm originally from Clive, Iowa. I've always loved Grant Wood's depictions of Eastern Iowa's rolling hills. So, occasionally, on my frequent journeys back & forth to Des Moines, I will get off of I-80, stop and take a few photos for later paintings, or a rare plein air painting like this one."
